In the Trend Space at the Heimtextil 2019 trade fair in Frankfurt, visitors experience five future forecasts of the textile industry in the form of immersive microcosms.

The challenge

Translating multifaceted textile and lifestyle prognoses into a spatial setting.

Our approach

A staging of accessible microcosms, each with its own tactile dimensions of experience.

Skills

Planning, design, communication

UNTER THE LEADING THEME “TOWARD UTOPIA”, FIVE MICROCOSMS PRESENT TREND STAGES, LIFESTYLE AND TEXTILE INNOVATIONS.

The challenges and opportunities of the 21st century, such as sustainability or the potential of virtual realities, provide the narrative and creative framework. Beneath a ceiling installation of seemingly floating air cushions a clearly structured exhibition presents itself on 3,000 square metres. Each ”Trend Stage” is characterised by an iconic landmark that makes the aesthetics and message of the particular interior trend visible from afar.

“We realize exhibitions and fair booths. The Trend Space is the combination of the two.”

Hellen Kleine, Creative Director in an interview with Stylepark (18 January 2019)

ON A CENTRALLY INSTALLED TEXTILE SWING, VISITORS CAN “FREE-SWING” MESSAGES ON MONITORS IN THE COLOURFUL COSMOS OF PURSUE PLAY.

In contrast, ”SEEK SANCTUARY” offers a textile audio tunnel for relaxation and meditation, while the cosmos ”ESCAPE REALITY” offers the possibility to escape from reality under an oversized rotating kaleidoscope. The clear exhibition dramaturgy creates a lasting individual experience with personalised content such as selfie areas and hidden messages.

CONNECTING LINK OF THE TREND STAGES IS THE ”CONNECTING ZONE”.

The ”CONNECTING ZONE” is a lively, mutable forum that invites exchange and networking. The ”INSPIRATION FLOW”, an audiovisual installation that encourages participation, is integrated into it.
