A space for experience, museum and hotspot for culture in one: The Museum of Modern Electronic Music (MOMEM) is being built in the heart of Frankfurt.
To create not only a home for the variety of different forms of electronic music, but also a unique experience.
A public space that becomes a place of actively lived subculture with museum content, interactive exhibits and workshops.
Design, communication, implementation
...an experiential space dedicated - for the first time worldwide - to the diverse, global electronic culture and the performing power of music. The digital-analogue exhibition concept focuses on the experience. A “spatial sampler” is created, a space that is continually adapted from set pieces of electronic culture and thus a scenography for electronic aspects of life. Fashion, club culture, instruments, sound and artist archives are staged in a multimedia and interactive manner.
Even at night, outside of opening hours, the MOMEM continues to broadcast. The glass front of the museum becomes an informative screen that is loaded up with multimedia content around the clock. The MOMEM is deliberately created in a city whose unique socio-political and cultural history has repeatedly produced important DJs, record labels and clubs since the 1970s.
